A BRAVE SOLDIER, CAPT SUNIL KUMAR CHOUDHARY,KC(Posthumous),SM

After completing his offr's training Late Capt S K Choudhary,KC(Posthumous),SM was posted to 7/11 GR at Fort William, Kolkata in 2005. Being a Lt he was much aware about his bright career and was ambitious to do something for the nation. He was a laborious and daring person. Being an officer, Capt Choudhary was trying to understand the problems of his troops. After completing its tenure at Kolkata the bn was posted to CI Ops in Assam. When our bn came to this area, the strength of the terrorists was increasing. Capt S K Choudhary was appointed as Company Commander of A Coy. In his AOR, some or the other ops were always being carried out. Being soldiers, it is our duty to control the anti national activities. Capt Choudhary had launched many successful ops against the terrorists killing a few of them and for his successful ops he had been awarded the Sena Medal.

On the unfortunate day of 27 Jan 08 an immediate op was launched at Borapathar and a violent firing ensued with the ULFAs. Capt Choudhary aimed two ULFAs and killed them, but one of the injured ULFA fired at Capt Choudhary taking the last breath out of him on the spot. In the service of the nation Capt Choudhary sacrificed his life for the motherland.

Perhaps only a few brave men are born on the earth and if born they ultimately go very soon. It is our 'salute' to this brave son of the nation.
